I went to the Getty yesterday. I cannot complain for lack of adequately stimulating companionship but I can for lack of adequately stimulating other stuff.

There were tons of terrible children who looked as though they might salivate at the mention of McDonald's. They carried with them their portable video games and stood in the middle of stairways and doorways playing them and failing to notice they were not at home or at their after school program where this type of passive ignorance might be qualified as quiet self-play. Kids like that should be left at home with canisters of those On The Go snacks and Squeeze-It juice drinks. They will be fine by themselves as long as there are no interuptions to their controlled, artificial environments, such as having the air conditioner or batteries for their remote control robot go out.

Basically, it seemed as though the masses have mistaken the museum as a consumable weekend activity that is fun for the whole family. To the rat-racing, weekend warriors who drive Lexus SUVs with the gold package and who bring their digital cameras to the Getty to take pictures of their morbidly obese unwanted children and trophy wives: KILL YOURSELVES!!
