In the park where I run in the morning (sometimes) there is a high presence of Asian sr. citizens. Meaning: there is me amongst 10-15 Asian sr. citizens.

While I run, this group, maybe even a click because they don't appear to include any other seniors into their foursome, goes about a series of calisthenics and a succession of walked laps on the track which is of an unknown length. Once they finish the laps and exercises they gather under a specific tree and begin a round of forced laughter.

It's almost a mock laughter as though they're making fun of people who laugh. They forcibly and cartoonishly slap their knees and hold their stomachs like Santa Claus impersonators. It's very, very strange. And loud.

I can only comprehend that they're participating in some variation on primal scream therapy where the patient does something they long to do but that they can never find an appropriate occasion for in day to day living.

Also, once again, we are surrounded by wild fire. Fire is now considered a weather condition as tomorrow's forecast is "hot and smoky" according to KCAL 9.
