tonight I went for drinks with some label people. we drank drinks and everyone wanted to talk about music. correction, everyone wanted to talk about who works in music and what they do, not actual music or the creators of it. it was to the point that at every blurted out "industry" factoid and name dropped, I wished more and more that I was either a.) on a depressive down swing or b.) had a drug problem because then the whole thing would have been at least surreal. But alas, no. The depression has gone into to remission for a while and drugs have never been a problem for me. The best part of the night was the drive home and getting to see the view of most of Los Angeles from the top of La Cienega.
